Originally badges were intended for knowing the person with which company or unit he belongs. Slowly this extended to wearing name badges. Name badges wearing are compulsory in Government or public service. When there is deficiency of service felt the person complaining about the official whose service is not satisfactory must know the name of the person. That is the reason wearing name badgeshave become compulsory in public service. Some of the units, departments or companies have engaged the services of permanent badges supplier to meet the needs of their staff. This badge suppliermakes the badges in advance and keeps it ready whenever required by its patron. Name badges are made of various materials but mainly of metal. In military services name badges are made of brass or steel.. On account of increase in the price of brass name badges were ordered in steel places which are slightly cheaper. Badges supplier also started making the badges in steel to meet the demands of his clients. In some countries in Middle East name badges are made of leather. The advantage of wearing leather name badges is that it is very flexible and may not lose its quality on account of rain or heat.
